As I go I see myself in the pistol smoke

Since turnover at my school is high, my bosses give a bonus to those who put in their resignation letters before February. Five hundred dollars. A lot to a teacher.

Since most teachers leave angrily, most teachers want to screw over the school as much as possible. They want to see my bosses scramble to fill the positions. By February this year, no one had handed in a letter of resignation this February, the deadline was extended.

I turned in my own letter after the extension of the deadline, then asked about my bonus. "I never extended the deadline!" Boss replied. I let it go.

I sent an email to Boss today, a week later. "You missed the resignation deadline. Sorry, no bonus," came the reply.
