For those about to rock, we salute you

Last night the wife and I were walking into town and a passing motorist beeped at us as soon as we stepped off the curb to cross the street.  This is standard practice in New Jersey.  Motorists beep to let you know that they are running a red light or just that they want to make a right turn on a red light before you cross the street.

I responded with my standard practice for beeping motorists: both hands up with both middle fingers extended.  It's a reflex.

Then my wife said, "That was my new boss.  I think he was just waving hello."

I told her that I would try to kick my habit of giving everyone the finger all the time.
