Yesterday I was on a job interview for a job that I would love to have. I met two impressive people that I liked a lot. They were honest with me on a lot of points so I decided to be honest with them when they asked me why I went to law school.
I said, "Well, let's see. I've told so many lies in response to that question over the years that I've actually forgotten the truth. I remember being an arrogant college kid that thought I knew everything about the world. I wish I could go back and talk some sense into that kid. But that kid is long gone, and this old lawyer is all that's left."
I am not getting that job.
