I went to a wedding over the weekend. The wife warned me that the reception was expensive so the bride and groom opted to only have hors d'oeuvres, not dinner. I had dinner on my way there and I praised my wife for preparing me.
When we got to the reception, the restaurant was set up with tables of six. We were told that there was no assigned seating, so we just picked a table and sat down. Then the bride's sister informed us that we were sitting in a table designated for the bride's parents and we had to move. No problem. When we looked around and noticed that every seat was taken and there were people actually standing around, the bride's sister said, "Well, we have more guests than seats but we figured that with the dance floor and the bar, people would always be getting up so it wouldn't matter."
Yes, I went to a wedding with no dinner and no seat. It was almost as if I was not even invited, and my wife was in the wedding party.
