Yesterday the wife and I watched half of the Boston Celtics game. It was the most basketball we've watched in the past year. I've been boycotting the Knicks since they drafted an unknown French guy to replace Patrick Ewing.
I have a Paul Pierce shirt that I bought in Boston when I was there for a trial in '02. It was before the Patriots were a dynasty and before the Red Sox won twice, so nobody really hated Boston yet. I love watching Paul Pierce play, but the shirt stays usually just stays tucked away in my drawer out of embarrassment for cheering for a Boston team.
I said to the wife, "I hope the Celtics win the whole thing, but it still feels wrong cheering for a Boston team."
The wife replied, "I'm really glad you said that."
