I bumped into one of my younger brother's old friends last night in a restaurant. I've known her for ten years and I've probably hit on a dozen of her friends unsuccessfully.
She said, "Hey, I heard you got married!" Just then my wife came out of the ladies' room. My brother's friend looked at her, then looked back at me with her eyes wide and a shocked look. She just said, "Oh!" Then she felt really embarrassed at her inability to hide her shock and we both laughed.
I said, "Yeah, I ended up doing pretty well. I was surprised too."
