Did you improve on the design? Did you do somethin' new?

I read Ideas in Food once a week just to see what they're up to, because I think they're insane and I respect that.

Last week they made Ritz Cracker ice cream and I thought, "Why would you use Ritz crackers when Cheez-It crackers are so incredibly superior?" And so, I made Cheez-It ice cream.

I just followed my favorite vanilla ice cream recipe, but I pulled out the vanilla and added a few handfuls of Cheez-Its. I blended it with the immersion blender before freezing it. The whole mixture turned bright orange and blended into a smooth ice cream. I served it with Cheez-It crumbs sprinkled over the top for texture.

I loved the way the salty Cheez-Its mixed with the sweet ice cream. I served it to my wife's family over the weekend and they all finished their bowls. My sister-in-law said, "I didn't think Cheez-Its could get any better, but I never had them in ice cream form. I didn't think they could get unhealthier either."
