Last weekend I finally downloaded the pictures that I took of the wife and I at White Castle on Valentine's day. I look like, well, a guy who frequents White Castle. I got on the scale the next morning and the results were not pretty. I've gained six pounds in the 6 months that I've been married.
I put myself on a diet to try to lose those 6. I plan everything that I'm going to eat before the day starts and I stick to it. For the past two days, I've had a salad for lunch and a bowl of cereal for dinner. Other than one pizza dinner, I've been pretty good this week.
The wife and I have a tradition on Friday nights: we get a pizza and drink a bottle of wine. It's a great way to end a long, stressful week of work and transition to the weekend. Obviously, this doesn't really fit into a weight loss plan.
Last night I said, "I went to Trader Joe's and bought two bottles of that Prosecco we like."
She said, "That will be great with the pizza!"
I said, "Well, on my diet I'm trying to cut out unnecessary calories, so I was thinking that I'm just going to have a bottle of Prosecco for dinner."
