Yesterday was the two-year anniversary of my first date with the wife. I took her to Jean-Georges to celebrate.
Jean-Georges is one of the three restaurants in NYC that have three Michelin stars (Per Se and Le Bernardin are the others). We've dined in the Nougatine room of Jean-Georges before, but never in the more formal dining room.
Between the bay scallops with winter truffles and crispy arctic char, I looked at her lovingly and said, "On our first date I took you to Triomphe and I got some serious heavy petting. What am I going to get for Jean-Georges?"
She said, "Ah, a wife?"
