Every Sunday after my grandmother makes dinner for the entire family, she wants everyone out of her house soon thereafter. Dessert is handed out while some people are still eating lunch and one of us usually does the dishes while we're eating dessert.
The tight time schedule means that I am only allowed to plate dessert on paper plates and I usually have to start plating as soon as my grandmother starts eating her pasta.
This week I made champagne panna cotta with strawberries. I made it in plastic cups and brought plastic spoons. The distribution and cleanup were so fast and easy that I'm now looking for dessert recipes served in a bread bowl or a pita. Because "There's nothing more satisfying than looking down after lunch and seeing nothing but a table."
