I installed the ultimate safety feature in my Jeep: a cigarette lighter.
When I bought the Jeep, it came with two "power outlets" but since I didn't get the "smoker's package" I didn't get a cigarette lighter. I didn't really notice its absence until I was driving through the middle of Pennsylvania one day and forgot my Zippo lighter. Having two cigarettes and no light when you have three more hours of driving ahead of you -- and you're behind schedule -- is extremely unpleasant.
Of course, I thought that I had another lighter somewhere in the Jeep so I began to search through the center console and door pockets while going 80 mph. Once I started feeling around under my seat, I realized that I was probably going to drive off the road in my pursuit of fire.
Now I can easily reach my new cigarette lighter whenever I need it. For $1.97, I may have saved my life. And yours. You're welcome.
