All brand new, never ever old school

For Thanksgiving, I made a few batches of cookies, a few pies, and a batch of raspberry macarons (they were pink, although they look a little orange in that picture like a Staten Island girl). The macarons were amazing.

When the macarons were put out for dessert, many people asked questions but nobody tasted them. They went for the pumpkin pie and the coffee cake. Some people surveyed all of the baked goods and walked away with a handful of Hersey's kisses.

It was one of those rare moments when I was glad to be a lawyer. Nobody appreciates good pastry and nobody wants to try anything new. Nobody appreciates my legal work either, of course, but that's probably because it actually sucks.
