Over the weekend while I was helping to plate dessert at the inlaws' house, my mother-in-law dipped a teaspoon into the whipped cream. After tasting the whipped cream on the spoon, she said to me, "Taste this and see if it needs sugar." She reached for another spoon but I just took the spoon out of her hand and tasted it.
"It needs more sugar," I said, predictably.
She hugged me and said, "I can't believe you shared a spoon with me. You really are part of this family now."
